After proudly serving the community for 39 years, Robert Ellin is retiring. We know many of you have trusted him with your eye care for decades, and we’re honoured to continue that tradition with the same care and commitment you’ve come to expect.
We're Maheen and Suhail, a husband and wife Optometrist team! We’re excited to be leading the next chapter of the practice. Maheen has been part of the Robert Ellin Opticians family for the past two years, working alongside Robert and getting to know many of you personally. Suhail brings a wealth of clinical experience and a shared passion for providing tailored, thorough, and friendly eye care.
As we step into this new era, our focus remains simple: to put your eyes and your experience first. Whether you're coming in for an eye test, new glasses, or just some advice, you’ll be welcomed with genuine care, clinical expertise, and a personal touch. Maheen
Optometrist | Director
Maheen has been part of the Robert Ellin Opticians team for nearly three years and is known for her warm, patient-centred approach to eye care. She is passionate about going the extra mile to ensure every patient feels listened to, supported, and confident in their care.
Maheen has a strong interest in behavioural optometry and visual processing — an area of eye care that focuses on how the eyes and brain work together to support comfortable vision, learning, and everyday tasks. She hopes to specialise further in this field in the future.
Outside of work, Maheen enjoys spending time with her family and is kept busy being a mum to their four-year-old daughter.
Suhail
Optometrist | Director
Suhail recently joined the team at Robert Ellin Opticians, bringing with him many years of experience as a locum optometrist working across the UK. Having worked in a wide variety of clinical settings, he is known for his calm, meticulous approach and for taking the time to truly understand each patient’s visual needs.
Suhail places great emphasis on thorough eye examinations and believes that careful attention to detail is key to delivering outstanding eye care. He is planning to undertake his Independent Prescribing qualification in the near future, which will allow him to prescribe eye medications directly and further enhance the level of care he can offer patients.
Outside of the practice, Suhail enjoys writing poetry — a creative outlet that reflects his thoughtful and reflective nature.
Deborah
Dispensing Optician| Contact lens Optician
Deborah joined the Robert Ellin Opticians team in January, bringing with her nearly 20 years of experience in the optical profession. As a fully qualified Dispensing Optician and Contact Lens Optician, Deborah offers expert guidance in both eyewear selection and contact lens care. She is also trained in the removal of ocular foreign bodies, enabling her to provide an extended level of clinical support for patients. Deborah is passionate about delivering attentive, personalised care and ensuring every patient enjoys clear, comfortable vision.
